a few years back i started an anonymous project called ITSNOTOVER.

the idea behind it was pretty simple- I wanted to produce some (hopefully timeless) house and techno records inspired by the three great cities that gave us these sounds - new york, chicago and detroit, and release them as limited, vinyl only 12 inches.

i wanted the house tracks to be played by DJs as similar or diverse as zip, mike huckaby, dixon and steffi as well as other people i respected and admired. i wanted the more techno leaning tracks to be played by DJs like radio slave, ryan elliott, boris, freddy k and marcel dettmann.

i wanted to be able to hear the house tracks pouring out of the panorama bar speakers and the techno tracks belting out of the berghain sound system.

this all happened.

with zero promotion, those DJs i respected and admired bought and played those records... and i did hear one track in panorama bar, only to later hear a different track in berghain, more than once, but once even in the same night. "late at night" was added to ryan elliots excellent panorama bar mix.

in terms of timelessness, i was very happy to hear the amazing freddy k feature "brotherhood" in his soundcloud set just a couple of weeks ago and i often still reach for a lot of these tracks when i dj myself (although i may be slightly biased....)

it was a fun project, not only in terms of the music but also deciding the name, how i would present it, putting up secret videos on youtube etc and i really enjoyed it.

i would like to publicly thank all the DJs, famous or not so famous, that bought the 12's and all the clubbers that danced to them - to see this happen after all my work really meant so much. so, thank you.

extra special thanks also go to spencer broughton who brought the whole thing to the world via prime direct distribution, dean muhsin at bear management for hours of invaluable advice and justin drake at the bakehouse studio for getting that sound just RIGHT !

after 6 releases, i finished the project as a limited vinyl only series.

for the final release, i compiled the main mixes from each 12" alongside alternate versions, dubs, tools and then added 3 new tracks that had never been released on any format.

ITSNOTOVER007 was a limited edition CD titled simply "ITSNOWOVER" all tracks were unmixed and full length.

that is what i present here, available for the first time ever as a digital download.

i hope you like it.

and so it was, and so it shall be.
